Why this matters
Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 requires any organisation that processes personal data, customer records, marketing preferences, online identifiers like IP addresses and cookies, to be certified as a Data Controller before it does so. Processing personal data without that certification is an offence under Section 53 of the Act.
For a company where trust is the product, not just a feature of it, this certification is a declaration, backed by an independent regulator of how we handle the data people entrust to us.
